Internet Transparency
I’m for Internet transparency. Although, I’m not sure I agree with a unified online identity. I think that the word “online” needs to be removed. Unified identity - so that we are always ourselves, no matter what the circumstances. Instead of augmenting our personality/identity to fit in a certain situation, we should just be ourselves.

Roboat Launch
The boat launch yesterday wasn’t a complete failure nor was it a complete success. I was steering the vehicle and almost hit some other boats (namely a paddle boat and some jet skis). The people in those boats seemed to get a kick out of seeing a robotic kayak with no one in it. Hopefully I’ll have some pictures to share in a day or so, possibly even a video. I had fun.

Woah! I got tagged on the Eight Random Things Me meme by Howard O’Berry. I didn’t quite expect this to happen, but hey, it’s the Internet, anything is possible. I do have to admit, I’ve enjoyed learning more about some Powncers like Howard and Geoff. Here are the rules: Each person starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to...

Seeing Yellow
“Seeing Yellow” is a project that stemmed out of the Computing Culture group at the MIT MediaLab (I’m currently working with this group). “When you print on a color laser printer, it’s likely that you are also printing a pattern of invisible yellow dots. These marks exist to allow the printer companies and governments to track and identify you — presumably as a way to combat money counterfeiting....

Did you know that every time you use a printer, invisible information is printed onto the page that the government can use to track you? Asking printer manufacturers about this “feature” has led to visits by the Secret Service in the past.
